ABC’s Ministries Adopts New Mission Statement

Written by Pamela K. Orgeron, M.A., Ed.S., BCCC, ACLC, Author

ABC’s Ministries has a new mission statement…“Advancing Biblical Causes”. Expect changes in the website to follow.

Why the change? ABC’s Ministries first began fall 2003 as a sole proprietorship with the publication of my first book entitled The ABC’s of Life for Children and Adults: Short Stories, Essays, and Poems Promoting Christian Concepts (Xulon Press, 2003). In the book title, “ABC’s” was an acronym for Abolishing apathetic attitudes; Building Biblical behavior patterns; and, Choosing Christ-like character”. At that time it made perfect sense to me that I would adopt the acronym as my mission statement. Although, I began ABC’s Ministries as a way to allow family, friends, and other supporters to buy the book at a lower price than the retail market value. In 2006 I disbanded ABC’s Ministries to focus on graduate school.

In 2010 after I completed both a M.A. (2003) and an Ed.S. (Education Specialist, 2009) degree in Adult & Higher Education, Counseling Specialization from Morehead State University, Morehead, KY I re-established ABC’s Ministries adding my now husband, Milton J. Orgeron, as a partner. Thus, after about three to four years of being dormant, ABC’s Ministries went from being a Sole Proprietorship to being a General Partnership.

In 2016 Milton and I added self-publisher to our resume after I wrote The New ABC’s of Life for Children and Adults: Short Stories, Essays, and Poems Promoting Christian Concepts (ABC’s Ministries, 2016) and We Survived Sexual Abuse! You Can Too!: Personal Stories of Sexual Abuse Survivors with Information about Sexual Abuse Prevention, Effects, and Recovery (ABC’s Ministries, 2016). The following year I wrote Food as an Idol: Finding Freedom from Disordered Eating (ABC’s Ministries, 2017). After writing Food as an Idol, I established the goal of writing a book a year. Since then meeting my expectations of writing a book annually I wrote and self-published, A Legacy to Remember: “Recollections of a Common Man” (ABC’s Ministries, 2018), and Food as an Idol: The Types, Causes, Consequences, Conquering, and Prevention of Disordered Eating (ABC’s Ministries, 2019). Most recently, I wrote Why Didn’t They Hear Us? The Causes, Consequences, and Solutions to Children Feeling Unheard (Author Academy Elite, 2020). All the books I have written as Christian inspirational or Christian recovery books ultimately point readers to Jesus Christ and the truths contained within the Scriptures.

For quite some time Milton and I have discussed how we felt our Mission Statement “Abolishing apathetic attitudes; Building Biblical behavior patterns; and, Choosing Christ-like character” was too long and cumbersome to expect others to remember. Night before last the Holy Spirit placed another acronym for ABC’s on my heart that I thought might work well as a new mission statement. The new acronym is “Advancing Biblical Causes”. When I approached Milton with the proposed acronym, he was in full agreement to the change. I would like to point out that we believe the greatest cause in scripture is the cause of Jesus Christ, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the message of Salvation.

Given the change to our Mission Statement, we also have decided on a new company logo:

On behalf of Milton and myself, I want to thank you for your continued support of ABC’s Ministries. Please feel free to contact us in regards to how we may better serve you. Our email address is
